Greek life has nothing on any public school, really only 4 frats that do anything (sae pi kapp sig ep and sig chi). Also, stadium is far as tits and there are no campus bars, closest bars are in the grove which is like 15 mins away and downtown/south beach which again are far as tits.

While of course Miami does have this traditional college night life to offer, it also has something else : South Beach. The Miami Triad refers to three fraternities founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in the 19th century: Beta Theta Pi (1839), Phi Delta Theta (1848), and Sigma Chi (1855). Historians of fraternities often compare the significance of the Miami Triad to that of the earlier Union Triad. You can't have pledges dress up the same(as we had to, in suits, for formal chapter).

The most sexist thing is, however, UM has a rule only for sororities which states that sororities (women only) must take provided transportation to and from a mixer and must be back before midnight AND sororities only are not allowed to leave city limits when throwing a formal (fraternities are allowed to go to the keys or the Caribbean)!

Miami does favor a few fraternities on campus and lets many things slide by with a slap on the wrist while they look down upon many (mine for example) and can't wait to boot them off campus for anything. The University of Miami student newspaper, the Miami Hurricane, reported that fraternities have continued to throw parties despite university rules barring social gatherings.
